Council lights up buildings on selected dates in March

Fermanagh and Omagh District Council will illuminate Enniskillen Castle and Strule Arts Centre, Omagh on selected dates throughout the month of March.

Both buildings will be illuminated blue on Monday 7 March at the request of the Council, to demonstrate its support for the people of Ukraine.

On Friday 11 March both buildings will be illuminated red to mark  European Day of Remembrance for Victims of Terrorism.  This year will mark the 16th European Remembrance Day for Victims of Terrorism, under the title ‘Growing Stronger Together’.

Enniskillen Castle and Strule Arts Center will be illuminated green on Thursday 17 March to mark St Patrick’s Day. While both buildings will be lit up blue on Monday 21 March to mark World Down Syndrome Day at the request of Fermanagh Down Syndrome Support Group. The aim of the day is to empower people around the world to advocate for the full inclusion in society for people with Down syndrome.

On Wednesday 23 March both buildings will be illuminated yellow at the request of Marie Curie NI to mark their National Day of Reflection.  Marie Curie is encouraging everyone to join the National Day of Reflection and take time to connect, supporting the millions of people who are grieving and remembering the family, friends, neighbours and colleagues we’ve lost during the pandemic. 

Fermanagh and Omagh District Council illuminates buildings to recognise days of significance to groups within the wider community. The Council also illuminates buildings in support of a particular campaign, charity or initiative.
