Fermanagh Lakeland Forum, Centre Manager, Emma McManus, said:

“We have been working hard to ensure Broadmeadow Fitness is ready to open on 01 May, so our customers can continue accessing gym facilities with minimal disruption. The centre will be managed by the Fermanagh Lakeland Forum team and we’re really looking forward to welcoming both regular users and anyone who would like to have a look around the new facility.”

Fermanagh and Omagh District Council is also putting in place an enhanced leisure offering at the Bawnacre Centre, Irvinestown and Castle Park Centre, Lisnaskea and in local communities across the district to ensure Fermanagh Lakeland Forum customers have access to a wide range of leisure activities during the redevelopment. The enhanced provision will launch in early June, with further information shared closer to the time.

The Fermanagh Lakeland Forum is closing at 4pm on 30 April 2025 for three years for a major redevelopment to replace the existing building with a modern leisure facility designed to support healthy lifestyles and community activities, providing inclusive and accessible spaces for people of all ages. It will be the first Passivhaus standard leisure facility in Northern Ireland, bringing the highest environmental and sustainability standards to the design and build.

The highly innovative project includes funding of £20m from the UK Government’s Levelling Up Fund and represents the most significant capital investment ever undertaken by Fermanagh and Omagh District Council with a total project cost of £70 million.
