Council announces Creative Art competition prize winners

Fermanagh and Omagh District Council recently invited children from across the district to take part in an art and craft competition to create a piece of artwork made from everyday recyclable materials.
Speaking about the competition, Chairman of Fermanagh and Omagh District Council, Councillor Chris Smyth, said the Council was delighted with the tremendous response and the quality of the entries, receiving a large amount of photographs of creations from right across the district.
“The district is certainly awash with young artistic talent and the response from primary school children from across the district was fantastic,” said Councillor Smyth.
“Their creativity and artistic ability reusing recyclable materials to help the environment was wonderful to see and the district’s rich creative legacy is in safe hands. While not all entrants won a prize, to me they are all winners for their creativity and commitment to the environment which is vitally important,” Councillor Smyth added.
The competition was open to primary school pupils in the Fermanagh & Omagh district and was divided into two categories, aged 5-8 years and 9 to 12 years. The winners in the respective categories are as follows:
