Council illuminates Enniskillen Castle and Strule Arts Centre, Omagh on various dates in May

On Friday 10 May 2024, Enniskillen Castle and Strule Arts Centre, Omagh, will be illuminated in yellow to mark Darkness Into Light. Darkness Into Light is an inclusive and welcoming event that creates the opportunity for everyone to connect with their local community and come together for sunrise to help raise life-saving funds for charities who provide suicide prevention and bereavement services in communities. Darkness Into Light events are taking place in Dromore and Lisnaskea at 4:15am on 11 May 2024, more information: www.darknessintolight.ie/about/venues.
Both buildings will also be illuminated in turquoise on Monday 13 May 2024 to mark Foster Care Fortnight 2024. Foster Care Fortnight is the Fostering Network’s annual UK-wide celebration of fostering, highlighting the dedication and commitment of those who open their hearts and homes to children in need. It also serves as an opportunity to encourage more people to consider making a difference by fostering.
On Friday 17 May 2024, buildings will be illuminated in blue to mark World Neurofibromatosis Awareness Day. Neurofibromatosis is one of the most common neuro-genetic conditions that causes tumours to grow on nerve endings and with many associated medical, physical, and psychological conditions. The Neurofibromatosis Association, trading as Nerve Tumours UK, funds a unique Specialist Support Network to help the 26,500 plus people, living in the UK, who are diagnosed with Neurofibromatosis, along with their carers, families, and wider support network.
On Friday 24 May 2024, buildings will be illuminated in blue to mark Acquired Brain Injury Awareness Week. Child Brain Injury Trust work with families and professionals across the UK to support them after a child acquires a brain injury. This help varies, from practical support in meetings with schools or hospitals to emotional support through a counselling service.
