This is an unprecedented time in our history and the fallout from the Covid-19 pandemic has had a profound effect within our communities.

Throughout the crisis there have seen many examples of community organisations responding to the exceptional circumstance such as checking on elderly neighbours, doing sponsored events to raise money for the NHS and other charities, delivering food parcels and medication to those who are shielding to name but a few. Fermanagh and Omagh District Council is keen to capture the experience of people from across the district during this time by exploring how people have come together to support each other. Many new friendships have developed and no doubt these will endure beyond the current pandemic.

The information will be collated and showcased demonstrating how individual and collective action has supported people through the most difficult crisis of our generation.

Submissions will be used to create a memoir of this time and Fermanagh and Omagh District Council will highlight some of the stories on its website and social media channels.

If you would like to share a story of what you or your local community group have done to help others during this pandemic please send in a video or text with a photo to: pauline.clarke@fermanaghomagh.com.

This project is supported through the Executive Office’s Good Relations Programme.
