Council to light up buildings in June

Fermanagh and Omagh District Council will illuminate Enniskillen Castle and the Strule Arts Centre, Omagh on various dates in June in support of local charitable causes.
On Monday 03 June 2024, Enniskillen Castle and Strule Arts Centre was illuminated blue to mark Volunteer Week. Now in its 40th year, Volunteer Week celebrates the contributions volunteers make to communities and looks to inspire more people to make a difference.
Both buildings will then be illuminated blue on Thursday 06 June 2024 to mark D-Day 80; the 80th anniversary of the Normandy Landings.
On Friday 07 June 2024, Enniskillen Castle will be lit up green in recognition of the Fermanagh Fleadh taking place in Newtownbutler from 02 to 09 June 2024, which will include a range of events to showcase Fermanagh’s cultural and musical heritage.
On Monday 10 June 2024, both buildings will be lit up orange to mark Loneliness Awareness Week, which is dedicated to raising awareness of loneliness.
Enniskillen Castle and Strule Arts Centre will then be illuminated green on 15 June 2024 for Tourette’s Awareness Month, which aims to raise awareness of Tourette Syndrome; a neurological condition, the key features of which are tics, involuntary and uncontrollable sounds and movements.
On Saturday 22 June 2024, buildings will be illuminated in orange to coincide with Omagh Pride and in recognition of Pride Month.
The final light up in June takes place on Thursday 27 June 2024 when both buildings will be illuminated purple for Deafblind Awareness Week. Taking place from 24 to 30 June 2024, the Week aims to show the people behind the condition and highlight their personal achievements and successes.
