Council to light up buildings on selected dates in September

Fermanagh and Omagh District Council will illuminate Enniskillen Castle and Strule Arts Centre, Omagh on selected dates throughout the month of September.
Both buildings will be illuminated in red on 01 September 2022 to mark Blood Cancer Awareness Month. Blood Cancer Awareness Month aims to raise awareness of blood cancers and disorders and the importance of blood stem cell donations.
Enniskillen Castle will be illuminated in blue and Strule Arts Centre will be illuminated orange on 04 September 2022 to recognise the 75th Anniversary of Relate NI in supporting relationships and families across Northern Ireland. Relate NI has been providing support to people and their relationships through various counselling services and in doing so helps to maintain the health and wellbeing of our population.
Strule Arts Centre, Omagh will be illuminated in pink on 10 September 2022 in recognition of Omagh Pride which will take place on this date in Omagh Town Centre.
On 15 September 2022, both buildings will be illuminated in green for Myotonic Dystrophy Awareness Day. Myotonic dystrophy is a type of muscular dystrophy and causes progressive muscle weakness and wasting.
Good Relations Week takes place from 19 to 25 September 2022 and to mark the beginning of this Week, Enniskillen Castle and Strule Arts Centre, Omagh will be illuminated in yellow. A programme of activities, organised by the Council’s Good Relations Team, will also take place throughout the week and more details are available on the Council’s website and social media channels.
World Alzheimer’s Day take place on 21 September 2022 and it is the focus of World Alzheimer’s Month during September. In recognition of this, both buildings will be illuminated in purple. World Alzheimer’s Month is an opportunity to raise awareness, educate and encourage support for dementia.
On 23 September 2022, Enniskillen Castle and Strule Arts Centre, Omagh will be illuminated in pink to mark Organ Donation Week. The aim is to inspire people to add their name to the organ donation register.
Both buildings will be illuminated in green on 25 September 2022 in recognition of Waste Recycling Week. This year’s theme is ‘Let’s Get Real’ and the aim is to challenge perceptions and myths around recycling and target contamination to improve recycling behaviours.
St Vincent de Paul Day takes place on 27 September 2022 and both Enniskillen Castle and Strule Arts Centre, Omagh will be illuminated in blue on this date.
On 30 September 2022 both buildings will be illuminated in gold in recognition of Childhood Cancer Awareness Month which raises awareness of childhood cancers and the support provided to the children and their families.
