Council’s Irish Language Classes resume in Fermanagh and Omagh

Fermanagh and Omagh District Council, in association with MF Learning, has launched its adult Irish Language classes in Enniskillen and Omagh.

The first term will commence with registration evenings and Pop-Up Gaeltacht on Wednesday 18 September 2024 at 7.30pm in the Strule Arts Centre, Omagh and Thursday 19 September 2024 at 7.00pm in Enniskillen Castle. Everyone’s cúpla focal is welcome.

The adult Irish Language classes will begin on Wednesday 25 September 2024 in Omagh and Thursday 26 September 2024 in Enniskillen.  There will be classes available to suit beginner, intermediate and advanced learners.  The classes will run for 10 weeks at a cost of £40 per person.

Speaking about the classes, Chair of Fermanagh and Omagh District Council Councillor John McClaughry commented:

“I am pleased that the Council has launched another year of Irish Language classes for the local community.

This is part of the Council’s strategy to enable, encourage and empower communities to learn, share and grow the Irish Language. These classes will contribute to the achievement of this by promoting the visibility and use of the Irish Language throughout the District.”
