Culture Night – celebrating culture and creativity in Fermanagh and Omagh

Fermanagh and Omagh District Council has provided sponsorship to a range of community groups and organisations to deliver Culture Night events on Friday 20 September 2024.

This annual celebration offers residents and visitors alike a diverse array of free cultural events across the district.

Culture Night 2024 will showcase the best of local talent, offering everything from traditional Irish music and dance to contemporary performances and historical reenactments. The events aim to highlight the district’s vibrant cultural scene and promote community engagement.

Speaking about Culture Night, Councillor John McClaughry, Chair of Fermanagh and Omagh District Council, said:

“I am thrilled to see such a diverse range of events spanning across our communities, from Omagh to Enniskillen, Carrickmore to Kinawley and Drumquin to Garrison. Culture Night not only highlights our rich heritage but also embraces the multicultural fabric of our society today. I encourage everyone to enjoy these free, family-friendly events and experience the wealth of talent and creativity our district has to offer”.

Culture Night 2024 will feature an exciting lineup of events, including a captivating performance by Síle in Omagh Town Centre, Bulgarian folk dances that will bring international flair to the streets of Omagh, and traditional Irish music concerts in Tempo and Garrison. Attendees can also look forward to a historical reenactment of “The Hiring Fair” in Drumquin, youth-focused Irish Language events in Enniskillen, and community talent shows in Derrylin, along with a variety show in Kinawley.

This diverse programme promises to celebrate the rich cultural heritage of the region and engage audiences of all ages.
