Drop-in Sessions begin for Council’s Public Consultation on Draft Heritage Plan 2025-2030
Fermanagh & Omagh District Council is inviting residents, community groups, and stakeholders to participate in a public consultation on its Draft Heritage Plan 2025-2030. The consultation, running until Monday, 14 April 2025, offers an opportunity to help shape the Council’s strategic approach to preserving, promoting, and celebrating the region’s built, cultural and natural heritage. In person consultations commence on Tuesday 4 March at 6pm in Enniskillen Castle with various others taking place in venues across the District throughout the duration of the consultation.
The Draft Heritage Plan has been developed through a co-design process, involving Council departments and key stakeholders to ensure alignment with the Council’s broader priorities and strategies. The Plan outlines three core strands: built heritage, cultural heritage and natural heritage, with an emphasis on collaboration, sustainability, and community engagement.
Speaking about the Draft Plan, Chair of Fermanagh & Omagh District Council, Councillor McClaughry, said:
“Heritage is at the heart of our District, fostering a shared sense of identity, pride, and connection to our past. The Draft Heritage Plan 2025-2030 outlines how the Council will preserve and promote our built, cultural and natural heritage, but we need your input”.
Residents can attend any of the in-person consultations to share thoughts, ask questions, and help shape the future of heritage within the district. Details of the upcoming drop in sessions are;
