Fermanagh and Community Policing and Community Safety Partnership launches Community Cash Marketplace
12th September 2024
Community organisations in the Fermanagh and Omagh District are being invited to apply for funding from a community fund offered by the Fermanagh and Omagh Policing and Community Safety Partnership (PCSP).
The initiative, named “Community Cash Marketplace”, is part of the Fermanagh and Omagh PCSP Participatory Budgeting (PB) scheme. Through PB, residents have a voice in how PCSP allocates funds by voting for their preferred projects in a designated marketplace. Groups can request up to £1,000 to aid projects aligned with Fermanagh & Omagh PCSP priorities.
This will be a two-stage process:
Stage 1: Expression of Interest
Eligible groups can submit an online ‘Expression of Interest’ starting from Monday, 09 September, with the grant application deadline set for 5pm on Monday, 30 September. Following evaluation, selected groups may advance to the next stage.
Stage 2: Marketplace Event
Invited groups will participate in a public Marketplace Event in Omagh (Main Street Saturday 12th October) or Enniskillen (Find Centre, Saturday 19th October), dependent on their postcode.
During the Marketplace event, communities will have the chance to vote for their preferred projects by using a ballot system at each venue. Each individual attending the marketplace will be requested to vote for their favourite project after exploring all the projects available.
Councillor Roy Crawford, PCSP Chairperson, said, this presents a fantastic chance for community groups to secure funding for projects that align with the PSCP themes in Road Safety, Domestic and Sexual Violence, Anti-Social Behaviour, Personal Safety and Fear of Crime.”
