Fintona Community Showcase Event

Everyone living in Fintona and the surrounding area, is invited to drop in to Fintona Community Showcase on Saturday 24th February, anytime between 10am – 1pm, at the Ecclesville Centre. The Fintona Community Showcase event has something to offer all ages.
At the event, organisers of groups and clubs will be presenting and sharing information on how residents can get involved and the benefits of being involved. There will also be a range of taster sessions, by various organisations who offer health and wellbeing support in Fintona:
• Inspire Wellbeing will introduce the importance of sleep at 10.30am. Sharing information on barriers to a good night’s sleep, how to overcome some of these barriers, and a guided imagery/relaxation model.
• Fintona Library will run a Rhythm & Rhyme session for young people at 11am.
• Fintona native, Gerry Ross, the Sobriety Coach, will deliver an introduction to his Max_Sober_Life programme at 11.30am.
• A chair-based exercise programme will be delivered at 12noon by Fermanagh and Omagh District Council’s Community Wellbeing Team.
• Fintona Sure Start room will be open between 10am – 1pm to offer services such as Baby Massage.
• Fintona Medical Hall will be present to offer general advice and health checks.
Community groups and clubs in Fintona, have been supported by Fermanagh and Omagh District Council to develop a Community Wellbeing Plan. This showcase event is one of the actions within the plan to raise awareness of the groups and clubs that deliver health and wellbeing initiatives for residents and to help link groups and clubs together.
Fermanagh and Omagh District Council’s Community Support Officers are working with communities throughout the district to support community development and promote wellbeing.
