FODC promotes Global celebration of entrepreneurship
25th October 2022
Every year in November, Global Entrepreneurship Week (GEW) aims to promote originality and creativity through local and global business support networks and activities. This year GEW 2022 will take place from Monday 14 November – Friday 18 November and Fermanagh and Omagh District Council has organised a series of free in person and online business workshops to take place during this week.
The programme of events is aimed at sustaining and growing enterprise across the district. They have been designed in partnership with Invest Northern Ireland, Mid South West (MSW) Region, local enterprise agencies, Omagh Enterprise Company Ltd and Fermanagh Enterprise Ltd and our delivery partners including Global Education Ltd and Full Circle.
The series of free business events, workshops, and networking opportunities is aimed at all business sectors including anyone considering starting a business, established SMEs as well as any individual with an interest in business.
A range of business focussed topics will be highlighted, including support to apply for public sector tenders, enhancing visitor experiences for the tourism sector, how innovation can support growth, how to export your product or service to new markets and promoting your business through digital marketing.
The programme is designed to cover an array of topics from exploring enterprise to growing your business – there is something for businesses at all stages of development to participate in and explore.
The events will also showcase the Council’s own free business support programmes – Advancing Business Growth, Tender for Success, Digital Support and the Sales Academy Programme – part funded by Invest Northern Ireland and the European Regional Development Fund under the Investment for Growth and Jobs Northern Ireland 2024-2020 Programme.
Speaking at the launch of the FODC Enterprise Week 2022 programme, the Chair of Fermanagh and Omagh District Council, Councillor Barry McElduff, said:
“Global Enterprise Week is an excellent opportunity for individuals and businesses to network, learn from each other and turn business ideas into reality to support their business and encourage economic growth.
The Council is committed to ensuring that the District’s economy is thriving, expanding and outward looking. Global Enterprise Week is one initiative which can help to achieve this objective by inspiring existing and potential entrepreneurs to develop their business and drive success.
With the current economic instability, I would encourage individuals and businesses to avail of the free programme of events to ensure that your business can continue to thrive.”
