Marble Arch Caves Launches ‘Quiet Tours’ in Recognition of World Autism Awareness Month

7th April 2025

Show Cave (Reduced)

In recognition of World Autism Awareness Month this April, the Marble Arch Caves will be offering “Quiet Tours” on selected dates throughout the month. These tours aim to provide a more accessible and comfortable experience for visitors with sensory needs.

By reducing noise levels and providing a sensory-friendly setting, the Quiet Tours ensure that visitors can enjoy the breathtaking beauty of the show cave and visitor centre with greater comfort.

Quiet Tour Schedule:
Sunday, 6th April – 10:00 AM
Sunday, 13th April – 10:00 AM
Sunday, 20th April – 10:00 AM
Sunday, 27th April – 11:00 AM

Commenting on the inclusive programme, Chair of Fermanagh and Omagh District Council, Councillor John McClaughry, said,
“The team at Marble Arch Caves has tailored these tours to create a calmer and more welcoming environment, understanding that people experience the world in different ways. This aligns with one of the Council’s core objectives, to protect, enhance, and make accessible the rich, diverse, natural, built and cultural heritage of our district.

I encourage individuals, families, and caregivers to experience one of Europe’s most impressive cave systems and learn more about this breathtaking natural landscape during a Quiet Tour session.”
