Fermanagh and Omagh Labour Market Partnership, on behalf of Fermanagh Omagh District Council and in partnership with Roar Roar Dinosaur, is excited to launch its Free Family Fun Days.

These interactive events are designed to engage parents and children in fun, hands-on numeracy activities. They will take place across six venues in the Fermanagh and Omagh District, with the aim of helping families rediscover the joy of learning numbers, shapes, and measurements through play.

The event highlights include:
· Maths Minions challenge: Families will work together in teams to help the Maths Minion with a series of numeracy challenges. From counting objects to solving shape puzzles, each clue and task is carefully crafted to strengthen basic numeracy skills while keeping everyone engaged. The family to record the highest score will have a chance to win a prize.
· Interactive Games & Activities: A variety of fun, hands-on activities such as, number-based games including inflatable dart board and penalty shoot as well as giant connect four and Jenga . Parents and children will need to work together to complete these activities, reinforcing skills like counting, measuring, and problem-solving.

Chair of Fermanagh and Omagh District Council, Councillor John McClaughry, emphasised the importance of this initiative:
“We want to show families that numeracy doesn’t have to be challenging—it can be a lot of fun when approached in the right way. These events are designed to help parents and children reconnect with numbers in a playful and supportive environment. By combining problem solving, games, and peer learning, we hope to make numeracy accessible and enjoyable for all.

I commend Fermanagh and Omagh Labour Market Partnership for organising these events through the Multiply programme so our residents can benefit from this unique and interactive learning experience.”

The Free Family Fun Days will be taking place as follows:
– Saturday 4 January 2025: Omagh Lesiure Centre
– Sunday 12 of January 2025: Bawnacre centre Irvinestown
– Saturday 16 February 2025: South West College Omagh
– Sunday 17 February 2025: Lisnaskea leisure centre
– Saturday 1 March 2025: Ecclesville Fintona
