“It is encouraging to hear that the initial success of these programmes has reinforced the importance of such initiatives.

I am delighted that we are offering a second round to support residents in our District wishing to return to or take up employment and also our local businesses by helping to fill vacancies in their workforce.

The Council is delighted to be working in partnership with People 1st, 21 Training, the NOW group, Fermanagh Enterprise Ltd and Omagh Enterprise Company to deliver these programmes.

Fermanagh and Omagh District Council is committed to ensuring that our economy is thriving, expanding and outward looking and these initiatives help to achieve this by addressing the labour market challengers in the Fermanagh and Omagh District, encouraging our people to return to work and ensure that our businesses have access to suitably qualified potential employees.

These employability and skills programmes are excellent opportunities for anyone considering moving into employment, reskilling or returning to work.  I would also encourage local employers to engage with the delivery agents to register any vacancies as this as is a key element of these programmes.”
