Fermanagh and Omagh District Council has awarded £322,445 to individuals and groups right across the district.

The Council provides funding to voluntary clubs, societies, community, sporting organisations and bursaries to individuals.

Chair of Fermanagh and Omagh District Council, Councillor John McClaughry said:

“I would like to congratulate the individuals and organisations who have been successful in securing funding through the Council’s 2024-25 Grant Aid and Bursaries. I am confident the groups, who represent a diverse section of the community, will make a lasting and positive change to their areas.”

One of the groups to receive funding was Gillygooley Youth and Community Development Association who used the funding to facilitate a two-week summer scheme for 28 children in the local area.

Louise Smyth from Gillygooley Youth and Community Development Association commented, “We were delighted to receive funding from Fermanagh and Omagh District Council.  This funding made it possible for us to run a successful, action-packed summer scheme.”

Another of the groups to receive funding was The Courthouse Kesh who used the funding to create a raised bed planting area and floral displays.

Alan Crawford Centre Manager of The Courthouse Café said:

“It is great to get support from the Council.  The raised beds have allowed us to plant, watch the produce grow and then go out and pick vegetables, flowers and fruit. It has been great for our many young volunteers to grow their own food and see how this has helped balance their diets.”
