Sinead Quinn returns to Irvinestown for Bawnacre’s 40th Anniversary Gala
11th November 2024
The Bawnacre Centre continues its 40th anniversary celebrations with a special gala concert, featuring hometown favourite and ‘Fame Academy’ star, Sinead Quinn. The concert will take place on Tuesday 19th November in the Bawnacre’s Main Hall starting at 8pm.
The gala marks a nostalgic return for Sinead, who will recall stories and memories from her time growing up in Irvinestown and reflect on her journey to national fame through music TV shows ‘Fame Academy’ and ‘Top of the Pops’. In recognition of the impact the Bawnacre centre had on her youth, Sinead reached out earlier this year to express her wish to celebrate the milestone. Sinead will perform songs from her time on ‘Fame Academy’ as a tribute to the place that shaped her formative years.
Country music legend John Glenn will also be making a much-anticipated appearance, recalling his own successful Christmas show held at the centre years ago. The evening will feature additional performances by local music personalities Robert Pearson, Eleanor Mc Grath, Georgia McCusker and Erin Keane.
Chair of Fermanagh and Omagh District Council, Councillor John McClaughry encouraged people to attend the free event and said,
”The Bawnacre’s 40th Anniversary Gala will be a fantastic opportunity for the people of Irvinestown to celebrate a true sense of community, music and memories. It is wonderful to see Sinead Quinn returning to her roots in Irvinestown, and with such a talented line-up the evening promises to be a memorable showcase of local talent. Events like this are an important way for us to reflect and look back on the past four decades.
On behalf of Fermanagh and Omagh District Council, I would like also to take this opportunity thank the people of the district who have made this centre such a success through their support and custom over the years.”
Admission is free, with complimentary tickets available at the Bawnacre Centre. To book a ticket or find out more information contact the centre on 028 686 21177. Additional Car Parking spaces will be available on the Lisnarick Rd.
