Spooktacular Halloween Events Across Fermanagh and Omagh

This October, Fermanagh and Omagh District Council is set to host a range of exciting Halloween events for all ages. From magical woodland adventures to chilling historical tours, there’s lots to enjoy this Halloween.

Monsters and Magic at Marble Arch Caves

Join us for a spellbinding outdoor Halloween family adventure at Marble Arch Caves on 26, 27, 30 and 31 October. Families can explore enchanted woodlands, encounter mystical creatures, and uncover hidden treasures at his family-friendly event.
A special sensory-friendly session will take place at 11 am on each event day.

Strule Arts Centre’s Frights and Delights

The Strule Arts Centre in Omagh will come alive this Halloween, on 22 October, young children can join Sammy Ragdoll and Eddy the Teddy on a whimsical journey through the woods in “Teddy in the Spooky Wood”. Families can also enjoy a performance of “The Whittaker’s Ghost Story”, adapted from a tale by George Bernard Shaw.

On 31 October, the Halloween fun continues with a creative clay workshop where children can sculpt spooky masterpieces. A screening of the animated favourite “Coco” will also take place, as well as the Trick or Treat Trail, open all day, inviting visitors to explore the centre and uncover hidden surprises.
“Horrible Histories” offers an engaging look into Omagh’s spookier side. Folklore fans can gather in Strule Café as renowned storyteller Liz Weir shares eerie tales, and those seeking a more chilling experience can join the “Gallows & Gaol” walking tour, which explores Omagh’s darker past.

Enniskillen Castle’s Haunting Happenings

Enniskillen Castle will host a series of spooky events this Halloween. On 30 October, adults can attend “Tales from the Vaults”, a storytelling evening set in the castle’s oldest rooms. For families, “Halloween Story Time” allows children to enjoy stories about friendly monsters and witches before embarking on a fun pumpkin trail.
From 25 October to 2 November, the “Pesky Pumpkin Trail” will invite families to hunt down hidden pumpkins throughout the Castle, solving clues along the way.

Ardhowen Theatre’s Halloween Events

At the Ardhowen Theatre in Enniskillen, “Teddy in the Spooky Wood” will take the stage on 26 October, inviting young children on an imaginative adventure. A messy play Halloween workshop for younger children, offers an opportunity for creative play.

In addition to these family-friendly activities, the Ardhowen Theatre will also host the Enniskillen One Act Drama Festival from 31 October to 3 November. This new festival will showcase three unique plays each evening, offering quick paced performances ranging from humour to drama. Local and visiting theatre groups will take part, with prizes awarded on the final night.

Leisurely Halloween Thrills

The Castle Park Leisure Centre in Lisnaskea and the Bawnacre Centre in Irvinestown have Family Fun Days from Tuesday 29 October to Friday 1 November, suitable for primary school children.

Omagh Leisure Complex will host a fun-filled “Splashing into Halloween” disco on 31 October.
