On Sunday 17 March 2024, from 12:30pm onwards, Omagh town centre will transform into a vibrant hub of activity for St Patrick’s Day with a diverse range of family-friendly entertainment, a parade, live music, dance, characters, leprechauns, and more.

The free event, delivered by Urban Events NI, is sponsored by Fermanagh and Omagh District Council and is set to be an inclusive cultural celebration for the whole family. Numerous hospitality and entertainment venues across the town will also get into the spirit of this global day of celebration.

Speaking about St Patrick’s Day in Omagh, the Vice Chair of Fermanagh and Omagh District Council, Cllr Ann-Marie Donnelly, commented,
“I am pleased the Council has sponsored two St Patrick’s Day festivals in both Enniskillen and Omagh. The Council is committed to providing the best quality experience for everyone who lives and visits our district, especially on global days of celebration like St Patrick’s Day.
I hope all our residents and visitors enjoy the celebrations planned by Urban Events NI, it’s set to be a brilliant day for all ages involving lots of our local musicians and entertainers and I wish everyone a very Happy St Patrick’s Day.”
The event will feature local talent on the main stage, which will be located outside the Court House, with performances from all-Ireland champions of Fintona CCÉ, traditional folk band SÍle, The Coves, and more. Family-friendly activities in the town centre include the Exploris Aquarium touch tank, Jigsaw Farm mobile petting zoo, inflatables, Omagh Heritage Music Trail and the ‘Pot of Gold’ trail for children.

A family fun parade will kick off at 2.30pm offering a lively and enjoyable spectacle for all. Starting at Sedan Avenue, the parade will wind through Omagh town centre, passing along Drumragh Avenue before continuing to Market Street, High Street and John Street, finishing at Church Street.

Strule Arts Centre will also host various activities throughout the day, including music, song, and dance. At the Strule Arts Centre, everyone can enjoy performances from Three Rivers Choir, Newtownstewart Highland Dancers, Thai and Celtic Arts and Crafts and more. There will also be an open Music Youth Session from 3 pm to 4 pm for all budding and experienced musicians, singers and storytellers to come along and participate and provide a show for everyone to enjoy.

To have a quiet moment, while the event is taking place, a dedicated room will be available at Strule Arts Centre. There will also be changing places and baby changing facilities as well as accessible car parking spaces for Blue Badge holders at the Strule Arts Centre.
