The Community Planning Strategic Partnership Board is chaired by Councillor Errol Thompson.

Community planning is enshrined in legislation through the Local Government Act (NI) 2014 which places a statutory duty on local authorities to initiate, facilitate, maintain and participate in community planning in their areas and on partners to participate in community planning and to assist the Council in carrying out its community planning duties. These partners include:
