Motion: Report of Potential costs around explosive Escorts
Council Meeting - 7th December 2021
Following concerns by local residents around the potential costs to the public purse of escorting Explosives to the site of the proposed goldmine in Greencastle, County Tyrone, this Council requests that the Minister for Justice, the Policing Board and Chief Constable of the PSNI provide details around the potential costs of escorting explosives to the site and provide a comparison to other industries requiring the use of explosives on a regular basis.
We also wish to bring this motion to the attention of the Minister for Infrastructure and ask that it is included for consideration by the forthcoming Public Inquiry into the planning application.
