Motion: Rural Broadband Scheme
Council - 3rd November 2020
"This Council recognises the extreme disadvantage rural areas face in terms of broadband provision and recognises the added difficulties facing rural communities during the Covid 19 pandemic, especially for businesses, for constituents working from home and for children's online classes.
This Council notes the urgent need for better provision of broadband in rural areas across this Council area.
This Council calls on the Minister for the Economy and the Northern Ireland Executive to develop a broadband improvement scheme specifically targeting rural areas, targeting and delivering for the areas in greatest need of public intervention."
