Good Relations- Small Grants

The Good Relations Small Grants Programme operates across the district encouraging communities to engage in good relations activities at a local level. The grants programme is ran under two headings:

  • Programme 1:      Good Relations Small Grants

  • Programme 2:      Ulster Scots Small Grants and Leid Week

Programme 1: Good Relations Small Grants

Good Relations grant aid is available to groups to deliver programmes or organise events to address one of the following Key Priorities of the T:BUC strategy listed below:

Our Childrren and Young People

> Improving attitudes between young people from different backgrounds.

> Young people engaging in bringing the community together.

Our Shared Community

> Increased use of shared space and services (e.g. leisure centres, shopping centres, education, housing).

> Shared Space is accessible to all.

Our Safe Community

> Reduce the prevalence of hate crime and intimidation.

> A community where places and spaces are safe for all.

Our Cultural Expression

> Increased sense of belonging (widens contribution beyond community background).

> Cultural diversity is celebrated.

Good Relations Small Grants Programme 2024-25 has complete with 48 application forms requested of which  38 applications were successfully completed, assessed and Letters of Offer issued to 25 successful applications. 2024-25 programme successful candidates are:

Programme 2: Ulster Scots Small Grants and Leid Week

Ulster Scots Small Grants

Ulster Scots in the Community grant aid is available to groups to deliver projects that promote, enhance, and encourage greater understanding of Ulster Scots heritage, language, and culture in the district.

Applicants should demonstrate that their project focuses on ONE or more of the following objectives:

  • To raise the profile of Ulster Scots in the district.
  • To reach out to engage people whose primary identity is not Ulster Scots.
  • To provide opportunities for groups to extend their knowledge and understanding of Ulster Scots heritage, language and culture.

Project activity may include one or more of the following:

  • Language
  • Music
  • Dance
  • Literature
  • Drama
  • Heritage -Workshops/Presentations/Study Visits/Tours

Ulster Scots Small Grants programme 2024-25 has complete. 28 application forms were requested and 22 applications were successfully completed, assessed and Letters of Offer issued to 17 successful applications. 2024-25 successful candidates are:

Leid Week Small Grants

Leid Week is an opportunity to explore Ulster Scots language and the role that it plays in the lives of its speakers and the place that it has within the wider community. During the week events are held across Northern Ireland to promote Ulster Scots language and celebrate its contribution to the rich and diverse cultural landscape of the country.

Fermanagh and Omagh District Council welcomes community groups to apply for funding to hold events during Leid Week  that raise awareness of Ulster Scots language in creative and engaging ways.

Events must take place during Leid Week 

Ulster Scots Leid Language Week Programme 2024-25 has complete. 3 application forms were submitted and assessed with 3 Letters of Offer issued.  2024-2025 successful candiates are:
