Dog Control Orders
Clean Neighbourhoods and Environment (NI) Act 2011
In accordance with the above named legislation, Fermanagh & Omagh District Council is introducing the following legislation which will take effect from
6 April 2020.
The Dogs on Leads (Fermanagh and Omagh District Council) Order 2020 (see link)
Under the terms of this Order, it will be an offence for a person in charge of a dog to fail to keep the dog on a lead of not more than 1.8 metres in length on any land specified in Schedule A (see link).
The Dogs Exclusion (Fermanagh and Omagh District Council) Order 2020 (see link)
Under the terms of the Order, it will be an offence for a person in charge of a dog to take the dog onto or permit dog to enter or remain on any land specified in Schedule B (see link)
The Dogs on Leads by Direction (Fermanagh and Omagh District Council) Order 2020 (see link)
Under the terms of this order, it will be an offence for a person in charge of a dog to fail to comply with a direction given by an authorised officer of the Council to put and keep the dog on a lead of not more than 2 metres in length on any land specified in the Order Schedule.
Anyone found guilty of an offence under the Orders is liable on summary conviction to a fine not exceeding level 3 on the standard scale.
