Littering
Under the environmental theme of the Fermanagh and Omagh Community Plan 2030, the Council is committed to ensuring that the district is an attractive and accessible place and where our natural environment and built and cultural heritage is sustainably managed and, where possible, enhanced.
The Council also has powers to protect and improve the quality of the environment for our local community and visitors to the district.
The Council spends a considerable amount of time and money each year to keep the towns and villages in the district clean and tidy, however, littering, including dog fouling, remains a constant problem despite the availability of bins and numerous recycling facilities.
The Council is grateful for the help and support provided by volunteers through individual and community litter picks. Visit our Litter Champion page and Quick Pick page for more information on how you can become involved and play your part in ensuring residents and visitors have a positive experience in our district.
The Council will continue to endeavour to keep the district clean and safe for everyone, whilst at the same time encouraging our communities and visitors to take responsibility for ensuring our district is a welcoming and attractive place and our environment is protected.
