Memorial Benches and Trees
The Council receives from time to time occasional requests from members of the public who wish to place a memorial bench or tree within a public open space.
These are often areas with which individuals or families have a particular connection or special relationship. There is no legislative requirement for the provision of memorial benches or trees although it is accepted that they provide a useful amenity as well as improving and adding value to the environment.

Memorial Bench / Tree Costs

| Plaque only on existing bench | £100 |
| Memorial Tree (1.5-1.75m) and plaque supplied by Council * | £50 |
| Plaque only on wooden stake beside existing tree | £50 |
*If tree costs more than £20 applicant will have to pay access amount over and above cost
