Legacy Omagh District Council

The Legacy Omagh District Council was established in 1973 with 20 Councillors elected to serve.  Following Boundary changes in the early 1980s, the number of Councillors increased to 21.

The first Chair of Omagh District Council was the late Mr Gerard McEnhill and the first Vice Chair was the late Mr Norman Wilson.  The last Chair was Mr Sean Begley and the last Vice Chair was Mr Pat McDonnell.

Following a Reform of Local Government in Northern Ireland, Omagh District Council joined with Fermanagh District Council and Fermanagh and Omagh District Council was formed in 2015.
